OUR MISSION
In 2005, Hurricane Katrina brought major devastation to New Orleans and the surrounding areas.  Thousands of people found themselves homeless.  While Habitat for Humanity has been building homes in the region since 1983, the number of homes they have worked on has significantly increased since the hurricane.  Habitat relies on thousands of volunteers to construct new homes and fix blighted neighborhoods.  To date, they have built nearly 500 homes in the area.

Since 2007, Rocky Hill High School has sent a team of students and teachers to work with Habitat for Humanity in New Orleans.  Over the years, the experience has grown to become one of the school’s largest and most popular service experiences.  This year, 36 students and 6 chaperones will be participating by giving up their April vacation to volunteer for this worthwhile cause.

This year's trip will celebrate twelve years of the Rocky Hill High School-New Orleans Habitat for Humanity partnership.  The trip has continued to expand to include more and more students each year.  We are proud of the efforts made by our students during this experience, especially since so many of them continue to give back to the community after their return home.  They are profoundly moved by the experience.

Terrier Tough serves as one of the primary fundraisers to help offset the costs of this important student opportunity.
